ABC has ordered a full season of the new series The Good Doctor. Starring Freddie Highmore, the series focuses a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome who joins a prestigious hospital’s surgical unit.
The news comes after the David Shore and Daniel Dae Kim drama has aired only two episodes. The series debuted to 11.22 million same-day viewers and a 2.2 in 18-49 demographic. Live +3 numbers brought the totals to 16.9 million and 3.7 when factoring in the . The order makes The Good Doctor the first new drama to receive a back nine pickup.
