Len Wein Has Passed Away

Word first broke via social media that writer and editor Len Wein passed away today.

Wein got his start with an issue of Daredevil in 1970. He went on to create  Swamp Thing with artist Bernie Wrightson. While at Marvel, he created Wolverine in The Incredible Hulk #180 with artists John Romita Sr. and Herb Trimpe. Wein also worked as editor-in-chief of both Marvel Comics and Disney Comics, however his most memorable editorial runs were at DC Comics. In the mid-80s, Wein served as the editor of Alan Moore and David Gibbons‘ Watchmen. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards’ Hall of Fame in 2008.

Aside from his print work, Wein wrote for Batman: The Animated Series, the Ben 10 franchise and the Watchmen: The End Is Nigh video game.

There are no details about Wein’s passing. He was 69
