There will be three shorts to the gap between the events of the 1982 film and Blade Runner 2049.
The first short, directed by Luke Scott is 2036: Nexus Dawn. The film takes place 13 years since the replicant prohibition has been enacted. Jared Leto’s Niander Wallace wants it repealed as he has created a new series of replicants, the Nexus 9, which are a step above those in the original movie. “This is an angel and I made him,” says Leto’s Wallace about his new android.
