Jay Thomas Has Passed Away

The passing of Jay Thomas was confirmed by his agent and friend Don Buchwald to the New York Daily News. He said of his friend:

“Jay was one of a kind, never at a loss for words and filled with so much fun and wonderfully wacky thoughts and behavior.”

Thomas was a two-time Emmy winner for his guest appearances on Murphy Brown. His long list of credits include Cheers, Married People, Love & War, Showtime’s Ray Donovan, Mork & Mindy, Law and Order: SVU, Cold Case, Boston Legal and Hung, along with the features Mr. Holland’s Opus, Dragonfly, The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause 3.

In 2005, Thomas began hosting The Jay Thomas Show on SiriusXM. He also hosted a Friday afternoon show on Sirius’ Howard 101 channel.

Thomas passed away following a battle with cancer at the age of 69. He is survived by wife Sally, and sons Sam, Max and J.T
