Fox’s New Mutants has cast some familiar faces – Game of Thrones‘ Maisie Williams and Anya Taylor-Joy, star of The Witch and Split will be appearing in the spinoff film. Williams will play Wolfsbane, a mutant who can transform into a wolf but struggles to reconcile her abilities with her conservative religious beliefs, according to THR. Taylor-Joy will play Magik, a young mutant with skills of witchcraft and teleportation.

The film will be directed by The Fault in Our Stars’ director Josh Boone. Josh Boone co-wrote the script for New Mutants with Knate Lee. Simon Kinberg and Karen Rosenfelt are producing. The film slated to hit theaters on April 13, 2018.

New Mutants, created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod, was the first X-Men comic spinoff. They first appeared in 1982’s Marvel Graphic Novel #4 and were featured in their own title from 1983 until 1991. This was followed by a second New Mutants series in 2003, a 2004 relaunch as New X-Men: Academy X and appeared again in a crossover storyline in late 2005. Stay tuned, kids…
