DC Entertainment has promoted three to the roles of executive editor.
- Overseeing the DC Universe superhero titles is Wizard magazine veteran Pat McCallum
- Supervising Vertigo, DC Young Animal and “select new project” is former Batman group editor Mark Doyle
- Marvel alum Bobbie Chase has been promoted to vice president and executive editor, with a portfolio that will expand beyond talent development to include a new young readers’ imprint, as well as the company’s Wildstorm, Milestone, Hanna-Barbera and Digital First titles.
All three will report to Senior Vice President and Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras.
DC Publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee said in a joint statement:
“DC experienced tremendous growth over the past year and by putting this new leadership team in place we are poised to continue the momentum that began with DC Universe Rebirth and DC Young Animal. We’re excited to work with this new editorial leadership team to explore new genres, reach new readers and ultimately grow our publishing slate to bring DC’s unmatched characters and stories to an even broader audience.”
The news is accompanied by word that the publisher plans to launch an imprint for young readers in 2018. Say tuned, kids..
