The film adaptation of Square Enix’s video game Just Cause has found it’s lead actor. AND director. Jason Momoa will be taking on the take on the role of former CIA Agent Rico “Scoprion” Rodriguez. There are no major details, but the film plot is expected to feature a crisis of conscience Rico suffers while on such a mission.
Brad Peyton will direct the project. Peyton and Momoa previously worked together on the Netflix series Frontier. The coming film will be based on a screenplay by John Collee. There is no release date as of yet.
Just Cause was released in 2006 and was followed – so far – by two more installments. The puts players in the role of Rico “Scorpion” Rodriguez and tasked them with the overthrow of various dictators in a variety of lush locales. Check out the trailer for Just Cause 3:
