Battlestar Galactica’s Richard Hatch Has Passed Away

battlestar-galactica-richard-hatch-featureRichard Hatch, best – and affectionately known – for his role as Captain Apollo in 1978’s Battlestar Galactica has passed away after an extended illness. Hatch’s credits also included appearances on shows such as All My Children and The Hatfields and McCoys along with guest star roles on television series like Murder, She Wrote, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Hawaii Five-O  and Baywatchhe was nominated for Best Actor in a Television Series for his work on Battlestar Galactica in 1979. He won the Indie Series Awards for Best Guest Actor for Pairings  in 2015 and received the Zed Fest Film Festival honor with Vernon Wells for The Pod in 2014.

Hatch appeared in the 2004 relaunched of Battlestar Galactica in the role of Tom Zarek. He also co-authored several books including Battlestar Galactica: Armageddon, Battlestar Galactica: Warhawk, Battlestar Galactica: Resurrection, Battlestar Galactica: Rebellion and  Battlestar Galactica: Paradise.

Hatch is survived by his son, Paul. he was 71.
