The official description for X-men pilot “will focus on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.” Matt Nix will write the pilot and executive produce. Along with NIx, X-Men film franchise veterans Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg are set to serve as executive producers, as is Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb. Unlike Fox’s X-Men films, which are produced completely outside of the auspices of Marvel Studios and its parent company Disney due to a longstanding rights deal, Marvel Television is a credited producer on live-action X-Men shows, including “Legion.,’ along with 20th Century Fox TV. Singer will also be directing the pilot for the as-yet untitled series.
