Love Is Love: JK Rowling and Jim Lee Contribute

In a New York Times article, the beautiful art by Jim Lee, a co-publisher of DC Comics to appear in the Love Is Love anthology was revealed. The anthology’s editor,Marc Andreyko, stated Rowling permitted them to use a quote by Dumbledore from “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire:”

“Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open” — as a caption.

Lee also shared the image on his Instagram page. The illustration features Rowling’s characters Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley and Albus Dumbledore standing, wands raised, beneath a watercolor rainbow flag, added by Mark Chiarello:

Love is Love

Proceeds from the sales of  Love Is Love benefit Equality Florida, which has established a fund to help victims and their families of the of the mass shooting at Orlando, Florida’s Pulse nightclub. Forty-nine people were murdered and another 53 wounded June 22 inside Pulse, a gay nightclub, in the deadliest mass shooting by a single gunman in U.S. history. The book is scheduled to be released on Dec. 28 by DC Comics and IDW Publishing.


Other contributors to the anthology include Jason Aaron, Rafael Albuquerque, Brian Michael Bendis, Marguerite Bennett, Matt Bomer, Mike Carey, Olivier Coipel, Ming Doyle, Kieron Dwyer, Phil Jimenez, Damon Lindelof, Steve Orlando, Patton Oswalt, Brandon Peterson, Taki Soma, Morgan Spurlock, James Tynion IV and Matt Wagner.
