Marvel.com is reporting Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman and Michael Nathanson have joined the cast of the coming Netflix series Marvel’s The Punisher. The character, played by Jon Bernthal, was introduced in the second season of Daredevil.
The roles cast are as follows:
Webber has been cast as Lewis Walcott, “a young veteran who has had a difficult time re-assimilating into Civilian Society.”
Moore will portray Curtis Hoyle, “a friend of Frank Castle and one of the few people who knows he is alive.”
Schulze will play Rawlins, “a high-ranking member of the CIA whose operations in Afghanistan intersect with Frank Castle.”
Newman is set to play Sarah Lieberman, “Micro’s wife (played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach) whose marriage has made her life far more complicated.” Micro, a former NSA analyst presumably based on Marvel Comics character David Lieberman, a hacker and longtime ally of the Punisher who has gone by the aliases Micro and Microchip.
Nathanson has been cast as Sam Stein, “a Homeland agent who is challenged by his partnership with Dinah (Amber Rose Revah).”
Executive producer Steve Lightfoot said in a statement:
“We couldn’t have asked for a more talented group of actors to round out the cast of ‘Marvel’s The Punisher. It’s a thrill to watch them each bring their characters to life with such layered, nuanced performances.”
Marvel’s The Punisher will debut on Netflix in 2017.
