Rupert Grint is set to star in and executive produce Snatch. The series, a television adaptation of Guy Ritchie’s film Snatch, is headed to Sony’s streaming network Crackle. He joins Dougray Scott who is on board as a regular and Ed Westwick as a recurring guest star. Alex De Rakoff, creator and head writer, also serves as executive producer and Helen Flint produces for Little Island Productions. Nick Renton will direct the series.
According to Deadline the series draws inspiration from a real-life London heist and “centers on a group of twenty-something, up-and-coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime. The boys must quickly learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London’s underworld as rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend.”
Production on the 10-episode first season begins next week and will premiere in 2017.
