FX has announced that its begun active script development on the project, now titled “Mayans MC.” The project is co-created by “Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter and indie filmmaker Elgin James. James is set to write the pilot script, which is being described as a “dark, visceral family drama that takes a new look at the most American of icons, the 1% outlaw, this time reflected through a Latino lens.” Sutter is producing the project for Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.
