The crime series Marcella is coming to Netflix. The streaming service has acquired exclusive worldwide streaming rights for the series that comes from the creator of the original Swedish/Danish co-production The Bridge (Bron) Hans Rosenfeldt. The series stars Anna Friel, Laura Carmichael, Nicholas Pinnock, Sinéad Cusack and Harry Lloyd. The series premieres tonight on ITV in the UK and will be available globally, outside the UK and Ireland, on Netflix beginning July 1. The eight-part drama focusing on troubled detective Marcella (Friel) as she investigates a serial murder case upon returning to duty after a 10-year hiatus.
Produced by Buccaneer Media for ITV and co-created by Nicola Larder, the series agreement was struck by Cineflix Rights, the sales and distribution division of Cineflix Media Inc, which holds exclusive international distribution rights for the series.
