The coming Starz series American Gods has added Emily Browning (Sucker Punch, Legend) to it’s cast. She will be taking on the role of Laura Moon in the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s fantasy novel. She joins Ian McShane
and Ricky Whittle, who will play Mr. Wednesday and Shadow Moon, respectively.
The series follows an ex-convict, Shadow Moon, who, is hired as the bodyguard of a con man named Wednesday. However, it’s soon revealed that Wednesday is an incarnation of All-Father Odin, who is recruiting his fellow forgotten deities to wage an epic battle against the new American gods. As Laura Moon, Browning plays Shadow Moon’s wife.
Bryan Fuller and Michael Green are on board as both writers and showrunners. The pilot will be directed by David Slade with Gaiman joining all three as an executive producer.
The series will begin shooting in April.
