Starz has cast actor Ricky Whittle in the lead role of “American Gods”. Whittle will play ex-convict Shadow Moon who, upon early release from prison, is hired to be the bodyguard of a mysterious con man named Wednesday. With the lead cast “American Gods” will begin filming in April.
American Gods is a Hugo and Nebula Award-winning novel by Neil Gaiman. The novel is a blend of Americana, fantasy, and various strands of ancient and modern mythology, all centering on the mysterious and taciturn Shadow.
