Netflix is set to go with Frontier, a series set in the late 18th century starring Jason Momoa and directed by Brad Peyton . The description is “an action-packed adventure drama following the chaotic and violent struggle to control wealth and power in the North American fur trade in the late 18th century. Told from multiple perspectives, the series takes place in a world where business negotiations might be resolved with close-quarter hatchet fights, and where delicate relations between Native tribes and Europeans can spark bloody conflicts.”
The six-episode debut season of Frontier , co-created by Rob Blackie and Peter Blackie will be shot in Canada and is being co-produced with Discovery Canada. The series will first debut on Netflix in 2016 in the U.S. and everywhere else — except Canada, where it will first air on Discovery Canada.
