EW is reporting Disney X D has ordered a second season of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy set to premiere in 2017. Season 2 see the Guardians team up with The Avengers. For now, new episodes of the first season will air on Saturday nights throughout October. Marc Buhaj, senior vice president, programming and general manager, Disney X D said of the series:
“We’re pleased to give fans a new season of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, taking them deeper into the Guardians’ universe. The team at Marvel Animation continues to deliver great stories that capture the tone and spirit of the feature film and provide entirely new chapters to the Guardians of the Galaxy story.”
