“MacGyver” reboot is in the works at CBS, with “Furious 7″ director James Wan attached to executive producer and direct the pilot, if things get to that stage.

“reimagining of the television series of the same name, following a 20-something MacGyver as he gets recruited into a clandestine organization where he uses his knack for solving problems in unconventional ways to help prevent disasters from happening.” TV veteran R. Scott Gemmill, currently a “NCIS: Los Angeles” executive producer, will write the script for the pilot, and is also on board to executive produce. Henry Winkler, who also executive produced the original series, will serve in that role on the new show.
