Hannibal fans have been waiting for word about the series since NBC cancelled it after three seasons. Folks had been hoping perhaps Netflix or Amazon would grab the series, but it seems that will not happen…. check out this exchange with executive producer Bryan Fuller on Twitter:

The series, based on Thomas Harris’ novels, starred Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen. Gaumont International Television let the options expire on stars last week and the two are currently fielding film and TV offers. Fuller is currently working on his next series, Starz’s American Gods so he would also be unavailable to work on the series if it found a home at this point. Things are bleak, kids…. Hannibal is homeless..

You can still catch Fuller and fellow executive producer Martha De Laurentiis along with Dancy and cast member Richard Armitage for a Hannibal panel at the San Diego Comic-Con in the San Diego Convention Center’s Ballroom 20 on July 11.

The game is not up yet for the series, but the players are getting fewer and fewer. The subject undoubtedly will be much on the minds of fans when one.
