Heavy Metal has a new Editor-in-Chief. Grant Morrison is taking the helm with the first issue under his tenure is set for release in February. Morrison told Entertainment Weekly:
“We’re trying to bring back some of that ’70s punk energy of ‘Heavy Metal,’ but update it and make it new again. One of the things I like to do in my job is revamp properties and really get into the aesthetic of something, dig into the roots of what makes it work, then tinker with the engine and playaround with it. So for me, it’s an aesthetic thing first and foremost.”
Jeff Krelitz and David Boxenbaum, purchased the magazine from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman in 2014. This is very exciting new development for the magazine. Stay tuned, kids. THIS is going to be good.
