First, we have Fear the Walking Dead: Behind the Scenes:
and this little teaser…
and a bit from AMC:
“‘Fear the Walking Dead’ takes us back to the earlier, more dangerous, more terrifying days of ‘The Walking Dead,’” said Kirkman in the release. “A time when danger was lurking around every corner and the thing mostly likely to get you killed was your own ignorance of the rapidly changing world around you. The stakes are going to be higher and the ride more intense. We’re going to show people all the insanity of civilization crumbling that Rick Grimes slept through. Buckle up.”
“I could not be more thrilled to be continuing on this apocalyptic journey, dramatizing the horrific disintegration of society through the lens of a dysfunctional family. We’ve assembled a stellar cast and crew to tell our story — it’s going to be a great ride,” added Erickson.
While the show is set in Los Angeles, a far cry from its parent show’s southern roots, the show’s six-episode first season is filming in Vancouver. The release states that additional filming will occur later in Los Angeles.
Set in Los Angeles prior to the massive zombie outbreak featured in “The Walking Dead,” the spinoff series will star Cliff Curtis as divorced teacher Sean Cabrera and Kim Dickens as the female lead, a guidance counselor named Nancy. Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey are also attached to star as Dickens’ children, Nick and Ashley. Elizabeth Rodriguez and Mercedes Mason have also joined the cast in unspecified roles.
Fear the Walking Dead debuts on AMC later this year.
