Apparently, it real now. FOX has formally ordered a six episode limited series of The X-Files. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will be reprising their roles as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Creator Chris Carter will also return. Production is slated to begin this summer.
Fox Television Group chairs Gary Newman and Dana Walden, who were involved with the show during the original run, commented:
“We had the privilege of working with Chris on all nine seasons of ‘The X-Files’ — one of the most rewarding creative experiences of our careers — and we couldn’t be more excited to explore that incredible world with him again.”
