Cablevision has an agreement to stream HBO Now to its Optimum Online customers. The cable operator is the first provider to offer the network to people who don’t also subscribe to an expanded basic package. Pricing has not been disclosed. CEO Kristin Dolan aid of the agreement:
“We are well-positioned to support HBO Now, and, as technology advances, Cablevision will continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers.”
HBO is planning to launch the streaming service before the new season of Game of Thrones begins on April 12. Apple has an exclusive three-month deal for $14.99 a month, however, HBO said that traditional pay TV providers a still have the option to offer HBO Now. Stay tuned, kids….
