This news makes me happy. Outcast has been picked up by Cinemax with a 10 episode series order. Robert Kirkman wrote the pilot for the series based on his graphic novel of the same title. Cinemax acquired the script from Fox InternationalChannels in July. Kirkman will serves as executive producer with Chris Black, David Alpert of Circle of Confusion, Sharon Tal Yguado of FIC and Sue Naegle. The pilot was directed by Adam Wingard and stars Patrick Fugit, Philip Glenister and Gabriel Bateman.  HBO Programming president Michael Lombardo said of the project:

We are thrilled to be in business with Robert Kirkman, a visionary talent who has the unique ability to tap into today’s zeitgeist, making him a perfect fit for the newly expanded Cinemax roster.”

Cinemax’s original series slate includes Banshee, , The Knick, Quarry and now Outcast.
