Reginald Hudlin and co-founders Denys Cowan and Derek Dingle are planning to revive Milestone Media calling it ‘Milestone Media 2.0’. Following the sudden passing Dwayne McDuffie four years ago at age 49, discussion began to restart the company. The trio is aiming to have something to share with fans at 2015’s Comic-Con International in San Diego. The relaunch will feature both new creations – and some classic books. Milestone Media was known for it’s diverse characters featuring both heroes and villains from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds in every title. Denys Cowan said to The Washington Post:
“There are all kinds of challenges that are facing people of color — that part hasn’t changed. What has changed is, there are a lot more characters of color in comics. What we feel is now, Milestone is necessary because of the types of characters that we do, and the viewpoint that we come from.”
