Monsters Are Such Interesting People – Hammer Dracula Part 2

Taste the Blood of Dracula (1970) Three rich assholes are bored with hanging around whorehouses, monsters2so they pay a Satanist (Ralph Bates) to obtain Dracula’s blood in powdered form to drink monsters3for a thrill. They all chicken out except Bates, who turns into Dracula, and then chases down the three men and their families. Linda Hayden plays the female lead, as the daughter of the main aristocrat who falls under Dracula’s spell. This one had nudity in it and it seems a higher body count than the previous entries. This was a lot of fun, and Christopher Lee counted off “first”, “second”, and “third” as he watched the fat cats die.

Scars of Dracula (1970) A rubber bat regurgitates blood over the Count’s ashes, and Drac is back! A monsters5dashing playboy flees from an angry father and finds himself at the castle, where he becomes prisoner of Dracula. His brother and his beautiful girlfriend come looking for him. Same cliches, the carriage driver who will go no further, the Innkepper who doesn’t know anything, etc, but Chis Lee is great as usual, and lots of pretty girls to keep us entertained. This was Lee’s 5th time as Drac for Hammer, and last in a gothic setting, as the final 2 entries were in modern London.
